Dear ACE Families,

We are officially in the home stretch of the 2025-2026 school year! While we still have one full week of learning and fun ahead of us, this past week was a whirlwind of celebration and emotion as we honored our 5th-graders.

A Week of 5th Grade Milestones

Our 5th graders are preparing for their next big adventure in middle school, and this week was all about celebrating their journey. We were thrilled to host 5th Grade Night of Memories and  DARE Graduation Thank you to those of you who joined us for these events.

I want to share a special shout-out to Mrs. Brennan, Mrs. Anderson, our Special Area teachers, and the entire 5th Grade Team. The extra time and support you poured into this week truly showed our students how much they are valued.

Fond Farewells

As the school year winds down, we also want to recognize some of our beloved staff members who will be moving on to new chapters. Please join me in wishing the best to:

  • Mr. Clines: Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement! Thank you for your years of dedication to our students.

  • Mr. Simpson: He will be heading to Gretna Middle School to share his talents as a 6th-grade math teacher.

  • Miss Ferzely: She is getting married and relocating! However, we are the lucky ones—she will be returning briefly this fall to serve as a long-term substitute.

  • Mrs. Giorgio: Our Behavior Facilitator will be transitioning to Aspen Creek Middle School next year.

  • Office & Health Team: We are saying goodbye to our wonderful secretaries, Andrea Breci and Abby Heitshusen, as well as our school nurse, Lisa Horst.

We are so grateful for the impact each of these individuals has had on our school culture. They will be greatly missed!

It has been an honor to serve your children this year. I wish every one of our families a safe, joyful, and relaxing summer break. To our departing 5th graders...go do great things! To our returning students...we can’t wait to see you back here in August.

Looking Ahead:

  • Movie Day: Feel free to send a blanket OR a pillow to school with your child.

  • Field Day: Field Day is currently scheduled for Thursday, May 21st, and we warmly invite parents to join us for the outdoor festivities. Please stay flexible with us; if the weather forecast looks unfavorable for Thursday, there is a chance we will move Field Day to an earlier day that week to ensure the best experience for our students.

  • All-School Picnic: Our school-wide picnic is also planned for May 21st.

    • A Note on the Picnic: While we love having parents join us for activities, we kindly ask that parents do not join us for the lunch portion of the day. We like to keep the picnic a special time for students and school personnel to bond.

  • LAST DAY DISMISSAL: 11:00

    • There will be a "walk out" for our 5th graders prior to dismissal.  Information was emailed to 5th grade families.  If you have any questions please reach out.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Kistler
