PTO Meeting Agenda & Notes

  • Welcome & Introductions 

  • Financial Update

    • Around $13,000 in the bank but have been spending funds on the carnival

  • Principal Update

    • Production of Staff Appreciation Week is amazing

    • Next year raise funds for an outdoor classroom ~$8,000 (installation but not picnic tables)

      • Harvest Hills had one installed this year so we could go look at it

      • Would like 3 – Square picnic tables

    • 4th grade students submitted persuasive papers, some of the ideas included: football, baseball, soccer fields; painting lines on the basketball court; Gaga pit

  • Aspen Appetite Night Updates 

    • Kona Ice – will ask them to drive through the neighborhoods

    • Chipotle made $234

  • 2025-2026 PTO Board Elections

    • President: Shelby Brennan

    • Treasurer: Kristin Seier (will need to identify someone to replace her in 2 years)

    • Vice President: Justina Kolbe

    • Secretary: Abby Lathrop

    • Fundraising Coordinator (ACE Race, Appetite Night, Birthday Grams): Kim Johnson

    • Volunteer Coordinator: Eli Johnson

  • High School Scholarship Update

    • Will be announced & given out on Monday, 4/28 at the Local Honors Night

  • Staff Appreciation Week Update

    • More exciting things planned

  • Carnival Planning

    • Friday, 4/25

    • Cheerleaders ~ 35 signed up

    • Goal is to have it outside

      • 15 midway games from Fun Services

      • Adding inflatable axe throwing/soccer/basketball 

      • 2 Face painter

      • Balloon Artist

      • Adding Spin Art (art room)

      • Trying to keep everything in the gym and common

      • 2 admissions tables – 1 inside the front door and 1 outside the circle entrance

      • Snack station – outside (popcorn & cotton candy)

      • Wristbands 

        • sales end Wednesday at noon

        • will be sent home on Thursday 

        • can also be bought at the door (cash only)

      • Need to order 15-20 pizzas

      • Dunk Tank – 

        • will need an adult to collect $

        • need volunteers to be dunked

        • $5 for 3 balls 

      • Cotton Candy machine being picked up the day before – can make it all day before the carnival starts

      • Have not heard back from HyVee about the donated 2L bottles of soda

        • It was suggested to reach out to Fareway if we don’t hear back

  • Open Agenda

    • Bringing back Birthday Grams next year?

    • Any updates on Adult Night? Not yet, haven’t heard back from the venue
